Owned and skippered by Tom Hill, the 75’ Reichel Pugh “Titan 12” crossed the finish line in Montego Bay during the first hour of Monday morning at 00:29:42, smashing the course record of 2 days, 23 hours, 5 minutes, 57 seconds set in the previous 2005 race by “Zephyrus V” by 12 hours, 41 minutes and 15 seconds, setting a new elapsed time record of 2 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes and 42 seconds.
The weather was the favoring factor, with the fleet experiencing up to 25 knots of wind out of the north on the first day, enabling them to set spinnakers at the start and ride the front all the way to Montego Bay.
Titan led the fleet throughout the race.
